Joshua B. Blevins comes from a small town in the middle of the dessert, called Barstow. Mr. Blevins thought he was the first to leave this small town and become a violin maker, but there was one before him. Mr. Blevins has apprenticed under several violin makers. As a young teenager, he studied with the late Ralph Agens (an early member of SCAVM). Mr. Agens really had a heart to train young people in the art of violin making. Mr. Blevins has also studied with the honored Roger Foster, who's style of work is backed by over 25 years of experience as well as being trained internationally. He still discusses challenges with Mr. Foster to the perfecting of his skills. Mr. Blevins has also studied violin making with Ruth E. Evans. Mrs. Evans studied with Mario Frosali, who was good friends with the famous Fernando Sacconi. Mr. Blevins is currently a member of Violin Society of America (VSA) and Southern California Association of Violin Makers (SCAVM). He, himself, is also a skilled violin player, having played professionally as well as with small local groups and is currently playing with a small music group in Heritage Bible Church. He runs the shop with the help of his most loving wife and Children, Paul Eugene Blevins, Peter Allen Blevins. Also, ones that have dedicated a lot of effort to the shop are Mr. Blevins loving Mother And Father in law.
We at J. B. Blevins Violin Shop are dedicated to quality work. Giving customers the best experience with their instruments is our passion.
